Join us for the Official Gallery opening of our show, "Walk with Me: Living with Chronic Illness", which will be featured at the Brown/RISD Hillel Gallery August 1015, 2012.
The artists for our show are the teenagers and college students who are members of TALC, and the pre-teens who are members of TALC Jr. The exhibit explores living with a chronic illness as a pre-teen, teenager, and young adult. The pieces will use a variety of media.
Doors open at 6:00pm. Each ticket includes appetizers and beverages (soda or water). Beer and wine will be available at the cash bar for $5 each. We will also be holding a raffle and silent auction. Raffle tickets can be purchased prior to the event or during the event. Some of the art will be available for purchase through a silent auction with the proceeds benefiting TALC. The raffle drawing will begin at 7:30pm, at which time the silent auction will close. After the raffle, we will announce the silent auction winners. Any art purchased will be available after the show has closed on August 15, 2012.
TALC is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to enriching the lives of kids and teens who live with chronic illness by providing programming throughout the year. We hope you can join us for this exciting event that benefits the teens and families involved in TALC and TALC Jr.

TALC - The Adolescent Leadership Council of Hasbro Children's Hospital
The Adolescent Leadership Council (TALC) of Hasbro Children’s Hospital is a group for teenagers and college students who live with a variety of chronic medical illnesses. Participants live throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. The college students attend local universities, including Brown University, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design, University of Rhode Island, New England Technical Institute and Community Colleges of Rhode Island. The group meets on a monthly basis throughout the school year to discuss how illness affects the lives of its participants. TALC members often use art as a way to express how they view their illness.
